Eric Mcelvenny deployed three times as a Marine, and in Afghanistan on his final tour, was wounded after stepping on an IED. He suffered the amputation of his right leg below the knee. Faced with a physical challenge and an uncertain future, he made a promise to himself to run an Ironman Triathlon.

On his journey from the hospital bed in southern California to the finish line in Kona, Hawaii, he realized the challenge and adversity he was up against and the techniques he used to reach the finish line can be used against the challenges we all entertain. Eric’s experience, combined with his Christian faith, makes for a multi-dimensional and truly remarkable story.

Since its founding in 1979, Sprout has provided a year-round travel program of vacations as well as a year-round program of day and evening cultural, social and art-related activities in New York City for people with developmental disabilities. Since 1995, Sprout has run an annual weekend-long music, film and arts festival for an average of 225 people with developmental disabilities complete with live bands, video screenings, interactive art projects, carnival games, and other entertainment.

Nicole Byer will perform Thurs, Aug 1 and is one of the most versatile and recognizable voices in the comedy landscape today, acclaimed for her Netflix specials Big Beautiful Weirdo and Comedians of the World and as the host of Netflix’s Emmy-nominated reality-competition baking series Nailed It! Byer starred in NBC’s Grand Crew and was a fan favorite on MTV’s hit series Girl Code.
