Eric Mcelvenny deployed three times as a Marine, and in Afghanistan on his final tour, was wounded after stepping on an IED. He suffered the amputation of his right leg below the knee. Faced with a physical challenge and an uncertain future, he made a promise to himself to run an Ironman Triathlon.
On his journey from the hospital bed in southern California to the finish line in Kona, Hawaii, he realized the challenge and adversity he was up against and the techniques he used to reach the finish line can be used against the challenges we all entertain. Eric’s experience, combined with his Christian faith, makes for a multi-dimensional and truly remarkable story.

Since its founding in 1979, Sprout has provided a year-round travel program of vacations as well as a year-round program of day and evening cultural, social and art-related activities in New York City for people with developmental disabilities. Since 1995, Sprout has run an annual weekend-long music, film and arts festival for an average of 225 people with developmental disabilities complete with live bands, video screenings, interactive art projects, carnival games, and other entertainment.

The National Comedy Center presents two-time Grammy award winning comedian/actor/writer and Comedy Center founding advisory board member Lewis Black who uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and finger pointing to expose the absurdities of life. His comedic brilliance makes people laugh at life’s hypocrisies and the insanity he sees in the world.
This panel discussion with 10,000 Maniacs founding band members, Jerome Augystinyak, Dennis Drew, Steven Gustafson and John Lombardo will dive deeper into the band’s genesis and early evolution including never before seen footage and recordings from the band’s early years.

Byer starred in NBC’s Grand Crew and was a fan favorite on MTV’s hit series Girl Code. Her past work includes the Above Average web series Pursuit of Sexiness, which she co-created and starred in alongside Sasheer Zamata, and the scripted comedy series Loosely Exactly Nicole. Located inside the historic Reg Lenna Center for the Arts (called The Palace in 1956), the event ticket includes a venue tour, exclusive access to archival materials from the 1956 visit, a photo-op on the same stage where Lucy and Desi stood to debut the film, and a ticket to a special screening of Forever, Darling inside the theatre’s grand auditorium.
